Retail Industry

In the retail industry, the value chain encompasses merchandise and store planning; inventory, warehouse and distribution management; integration of on-line storefronts with brick-and-mortar locations; and personalized marketing to consumers. There are needs to constantly monitor "what's selling and what's not" and make crucial adjustments at a moments notice. Retailers must continually track and monitor demographic, geographic, and seasonal buying patterns; grow customer loyalty programs; comply with regulations such as Sarbanes-Oxley and the Consumer Privacy Act; and proactively make business decisions impacting product selections, availability, placements, and promotions on a daily basis.
